2006 GCE 'O' Level Mathematics Paper 2

Dear 2006 GCE 'O' Level pupils,

Please focus your attention to the following topics:
(Note: this is just a guide to help you to be more focussed in your revision. It is in no way a guarantee match of this Friday's paper)

To help you further, I will be using the following colour codes:
blue - very likely topic
green - maybe will still appear
red - no need to study le

VERY LIKELY TOPICS
1. TRIGONOMETRY - die die MUST know (high weightage)!!

2. Drawing of GRAPHS - surely at least one question. (BUT no need to study distance-time and speed-time graphs because it has been tested in paper 1 question 21)

3. STATISTIC question - either stem & leaf, histogram, cumulative frequency or combination of the above.

4. ALGEBRA - at least one question: solving quadratic equation using formula, factorisation, evaluation, algebraic fraction, making subject, etc.

5. MENSURATION- finding area and volume, anything shape also possible since paper 1 only have one question on arc length.

6. Number pattern - since no number pattern question in paper 1.

7. Arithmetic question such as simple and compound interest, some other financial transaction questions.

Maybe will still appear
1. Probability - still likely to appear since only 3 marks in paper 1.

2. Congruency question - since already 5 marks on similarity, this topic would be quite unlikely but to play safe focus on congruency only.

3. Vectors - not likely to appear but since only 3 marks in paper 1 better play safe to study if you have a bit of spare time.

4. Circle properties: Quite unlikely to appear but if have time try to learn those that involve tangents, alternate segment and cyclic quad.

No need to study le
1. transformation
2. locus
3. coordinate geometry
4. variation
5. angle properties of polygons
6. standard form
7. inequalities

Good luck and study hard.
